Happy New Year to all our park runners. New Years day means a chance for a parkrun double and well done to Paul & Cathy P, Hazel, Maggie and your humble narrator for getting out of bed early on NYD for a double run! I had only planned to go to Yeovil for the very sensible time of 10.30 but I awoke early and anxious to start shifting the mine pies decided to nip to Shepton Mallet first at the not so sensible time of 8.30! It was also to be Hazel 50th run. Paul & Cathy had talked of a Devon double but a late change of plan saw them stick to a Somerset double. Weather conditions were a bit drab but the rain held off and 255 turned up for 3 laps of Collet Park. Paul held off a late charge by Hazel followed by myself and Kathy. Hazel then went to Street to have a slip and a slide in the mud. Whereas Paul, Cathy and me went to Yeovil. Cathy enjoyed the warm up as she recorded a PB at Yeovil. Maggie completed the first part of her double at Henstridge and ran a PB and then joined us at Yeovil. Well done to Mrs Norton who recorded a PB too. A massive 664 ran at Yeovil which is a new record attendance. The weather held off here too! Bill Farmer was also running but has not yet registered, so ducked out of the finish. Well done to Spencer Chapman who also completed his 50th parkrun.
Slight change in the table format, I have also not placed it on age grade format as after all it is not a race but a timed run.
