This week saw 463 runners head to a chilly Longrun Meadow with 7 Langport Runners in the field. Myself and Shelly Romans were running there for the first time. I enjoyed the course which is scenic and flat. The standout performance was from 11-year-old Jack Harvey who in his first Adult Park Run produced a superb performance, and he beat me by 5 seconds too. I was running just behind him for the last K, I didn’t know until the finish that he was a LR runner and it was a pleasure to see him enjoying his running and I think there was a lot left in the tank for him to, so he will be getting quicker over the coming months. I recorded the same time as last week’s run in Margate.
There were also other notable performances firstly from Mark Romans who recorded a course PB and Grahame's PB was his 5th Parkrun PB in a row!! Hazel Shears battled through her run despite suffering from a cold. The evergreen David German cruised around the course and now has 87 Park Runs to his name, very impressive.
Gill Bray went over to Bicester for her first run there.
Roxane was at Blandford for the first time (which I am told is a little dull out and back route) and recorded her fastest Park Run time in her 99th run. Well done Rox.
Now the important bit of the report.
Roxane will be running her 100th Park Run next week at Montacute, unfortunately I can’t make it her to support her, as I will be traveling to Southampton for a little “fun run” I have got on Sunday but it would be great for the club to turn up and support Rox, I am told there will be a certain amount of cake available on a first come first serve basis, so I expect to see some cake incentive PB next week, especially from you Rox, as you are making a habit of getting 5k PB.
Grahame checking his watch for a PB 👍
Jack doing very well. 👍
