Strong winds and cold weather didn't stop 18 Langport Runners turn up at the usual Somerset locations, with just Nick venturing out of the County to Brueton parkrun. Nice to see 5 LR members volunteering at Street this week too. James and Richard kept each other company on their run as did Brian and Roxane the volunteer tail walkers. Dave W I Imagine was kept company part of the way around by his son too. Maggie on the other hand didn’t have any friends to run with…

It was pretty friendly at Longrun Meadow for a time too. I ran with James for the first 2 miles but then Kate caught up with us and over took us for a little bit (she did start from the back) so after a little run together, I decided to up the pace for the last mile and managed to overtake Cathy. Despite a super sprint finish by James he couldn’t beat his Mum (more training needed). However, he did record a PB, with Kate achieving a 5k PB. Paul put in his usual top quality parkrun performance for a sub 23 min run and second place on the table.

The running partnerships continued at 9 Springs with Grahame pacing Hazel to a PB and Amanda pacing her daughter Sam to a PB too! Dave G just missed out on a sub 40! Unlucky Dave.

We even saw John Howard Park running this weekend at Shepton Mallet and he put in a stellar performance coming 5th overall and achieving a percentage score of 71% and topping the table. John’s parkrun’s are certainly worth the wait!
