                *parkrun double

So the first parkrun of the New Year and a chance for a double parkrun or as James and Kylie did volunteer and run. Steve and I ran Street and then Yeovil, whereas Cathy, Paul and Richard went for the Shepton Mallet option after Street.

Another bumper attendance at Street where 213 attended for a 9.00 start. The course is still pretty slippery on the corners so care is required. However, saw dust and sand have been used to good effect on the worse parts of the course. Paul was the stand out performer here. Kyle was at Henstridge for 9.00 but was not there for long as it only took him 18 mins and 43 seconds to finish in 2nd place just 23 seconds behind 1st place, with a percentage score of just under 70%!

A huge number 307 to be precise squeezed into Collett Park for Shepton Mallet’s 86th parkrun. Paul was quicker by 12 seconds on his 2nd run. Richard 3 seconds quicker and Cathy a 29 seconds slower.

Over at the new B course at Nine Springs Steve produced a quicker run by 24 seconds and I was over 90 seconds quicker. Wendy and Kate joined in for the later start and run around together. Just the 431 turned up for the first running here. The paths are a little tight when the runs turn after 2k to run back so care is needed here. The start is also congested so quicker runners do need to be at the front. However, the course is pretty flat with a slight uphill finish. You do have to pay for parking!

We do have a few milestones coming up Steve small will be going to Killerton parkrun on the 12th January to bring up his 100th parkrun and would love to see a bumper turnout from the club. James is on 96 so will be getting there soon.

Myself, Kate and Wendy waiting for the run to start at Yeovil
