Numbers not too bad given the cold, damp weather; but were a little lower than the usual average at all 5 venues. No PBs.

With such a wet course, may be it isn't a surprise that the 3 runners at the bottom of the table all ran at Taunton. There is news from Longrun regarding the far end of the course: "If you are a "Puddle Dodger you will be pleased to hear that the Muddy straight will be no more very soon. Taunton Deane have recently signed off converting this length of our course to normal path. Just waiting for the contractors to start."

Paul and Cathy avoided the huge puddles at their usual Longrun and ventured across to try the very different terrain of Montacute. Both ran good times and are high up in this week's table. Kyle, at the same venue, topped the table, with Amanda completing the top 4 this week. Liz kept a friend company and had a gentler than usual run.

Message regarding the parking at Montacute: "Thanks for those of you who turned up that bit earlier today – the parking was a lot less stressy! We’re trialling closing one of the front gates at 8.50 – be warned, if the car park gets full, we’ll close both of them!" I am not sure I understand the point of closing one gate at 8:50?? Please comment on this post and explain if you do. However, a good idea to shut both gates if the carpark is actually full.

Over at Street, Richard and Mike kept each other company/raced each other (?) around the course. Mike won on time, Richard on percentage.

Nick was at Solihull's Brueton Park for his 32nd time. A second quicker and I may have pipped him on percentages. I was a First Timer at Edinburgh Cramond/Silverknowes Parkrun. A pretty chilly, but beautiful, run along the promenade with impressive views of Cramond island and causeway; and both the Forth Road and Rail bridges visable in the distance. Almost 600 runners turned out this week. Having chatted casually to a lady on our walk to the start; it a was lovely surprise to be mentioned in the briefing as having come all the way from "Wurzel country to do my 150th Parkrun!"

Message from Street Parkrun regarding 8th December:

"December 8th - Food Drive parkrun!

We average 152 runners per week. If every runner that came along on the 8th brought a couple of unneeded items from the list below, we'd have a great amount to take over to our nearest food bank.

Let's provide a little help to families who need it before Christmas!
