It was another baking hot day for us parkrunners to enjoy this weekend. I was on the way to Lords to watch the cricket, so had a look for a parkrun near a railway station about 1/2 hour from Paddington. I found one that fitted the bill nicely which was Upton Court parkrun, just over a mile away from the station. The course was 2 full laps of the park and on one of the laps we did a circuit of an adjacent field. It was a very friendly parkrun and the Race Director came up to talk to me before the start to check where I was from (No doubt have clocked my new Langport Runners vest). I even got a mention in the run report which was nice. I needed to catch a train ASAP so worked out if I could do a sub 25 min run I could get to Stroud Station and get the 10.00am train and arrive at Paddington for 10.25 and a little jog to Lords, sit down for the first delivery at 11.00. I am pleased to say I was spot on with my timings and sat down to watch the first ball being bowled.
Well done to Dave and Sarah for their PB runs at Street. It was close at the business end of our table this week with Karen coming out on top with Wendy and Liz in joint 2nd place having both recorded exactly the same percentage score. Street also had their first sub 17 minute run by an Avon Valley Runner who took the course record with a speedy time of 16.11. Liz is just 6 away from bringing up her Century with myself just 3 away from 50.
