With Montacute back for a second week in a row, this week's Parkrun results show a typical distribution of Langport runners. Most running at Montacute and a few at three venues further afield.

Montacute was fairly dry, with the start feeling quite hard and lumpy under foot. It was my first trip back there since before Christmas and it did feel tough, particularly the final 'small' hill. There were 337 runners this week, including Liz, then Kyle who topped our leader board. Liz had already run 5k to Montacute and was aiming to run a further 5k after.  Amanda ran with her daughter Samantha and family dog. There was an option to run through the finish funnel and continue a further 0.6 miles up The Avenue to a marked tree and total 3.7miles as a nod to Matt Campbell. Matt was the runner who collapsed, then died, 3.7 miles short of completing this year's London Marathon.

Dave G made his 16th appearance at Burnham; there were 297 others alongside Dave this week.

Alice tried Heartwood Forest Parkrun in St Albans for the first time. Her 12th Parkrun and slipped in just under 30 minutes.

Sarah, still down under in Australia, ran for a second time at East Reynalla. Her holiday seems to have energised her as she knocked a substantial 1 minute 42 seconds off her PB and achieved our only PB of the week. Good work Sarah!

Shepton Mallet celebrated their first birthday. From the looks of the photos there was a lot of cake and many costumes.

News on Street Parkrun is that it officially starts next week (5th May). The core team aim not to be overwhelmed by a massive turn out on week one, while they are finding their feet. But, if this is going to be a regular run of yours, it is exciting to now have another choice of a reasonably local Parkrun. Please also think about volunteering here when you can to assist its success.
