I decided to pay a trip to Shepton Mallett parkrun for their 22nd event, on a rather damp and grey Autumn morning. I ran at the first event here which attracted well over 300 runners and was a little congested to say the least. This week saw a much more manageable number of 174 participants run 3 relatively flat laps of Collett Park. The Marshalls are excellent and there is plenty of support and encouragement especially from some of the kids with their big high five hands! It is well worth a visit! It is noticeable that a lot of fun runners take part with the majority of runners are unattached. I hadn’t run for a week due to a heavy cold so I was pleased with a sub 25 minute time and a finishing position of 35th!.
The Majority of LR were at Montacute with the usual trio being in the top positions. Liz topping the table followed by Jack’s who recorded a new PB and Sue. Nice to see Grahame back in action and now doubt will be getting quicker over the following weeks.
Nick and Roxane were the only two LR running at Taunton this week. Nick must have had rocket fuel for breakfast as he slashed his PB by 33 seconds.
Dennis was the only runner LR runner at Burnham on Saturday.
