Only five Langport Runners at Montacute Parkrun this week. Four runners and one walker; as I was volunteer tail walker with four legged Bella the labrador. Tail walking turned out to be an interesting way to experience Parkrun. I loved the start. No sudden start, no wheezing up the hill, no actual running until coming back down the hill. Most enjoyable. Bella didn't fully realise what she had volunteered for and was keen to overtake anyone in front of her, but she soon got the idea she was supposed to stay at the back. It was lovely watching people trying their hardest, encourage those near the back and a reminder that, even though the finish times vary hugely, the effort behind each Parkrun is very similar.
Way ahead of us, Jack and Liz had fast runs with high percentages; Amanda timed her run well to finish under 29 minutes and it was good to see Sorrel back at a Parkrun.
Meanwhile over at Longrun, Kyle, Hazel and Dave German were doing their best to hide from the Longrun cameras at the start of the run (see photos below, Where's Wally comes to mind??!). However, they were then snapped in full flight later on the course. Conditions must have been good with both Kyle and Hazel coming in 7th male and female respectively. They both achieved a PB too: Kyle knocking off 13 seconds from his previous best and Hazel knocking a huge 46 seconds off hers. Our Centurion Dave achieved a commendable 55.05%. It looks like Kyle has recovered from his recent injury.
Anne visited Southwick Country Parkrun, near Trowbridge, for the 20th time. She also achieved a PB, knocking 26 seconds off her previous best time which had stood for 18 months.
