ParkRun Report Saturday 15th July 2017 by Mike Norton
Just 7 LR ventured at the weekend to a parkrun. No PB were recorded but we had 4 run courses for the first time.
Yeovil Montacute parkrun
Jack topped the table this week and continued his impressive form. Katy narrowly missed out on a PB by 2 seconds. Well done to you both.
Longrun Meadow parkrun
Margaret & Mark both ran for the first time here and were Joined by Dave who has ran here 15 times.
Next week is their 200th run. This is an opportunity ‘to wear fancy dress, if that floats your boat’ "stripes and barcodes" theme. Cakes also welcome, even balloons. "
Tewkesbury parkrun
Nick (who is not just one parkrun away from his ton) & Rox tried Tewkesbury parkrun on Saturday. Rox’s thoughts are as follows “Being adjacent to the Abbey, it was a lovely location. First Parkrun we have tried that is 4 laps. It is all on grass, we will remember trail shoes another time. It is a very friendly run, and relatively small with an average of only 60 runners. Quick start and finish as they are both downhill. It was also very conveniently situated from a caravan & motorhome site. Literally a 2-minute walk from our bed to the start of the run; very welcome on a Saturday morning.”
Tooting Common parkrun
Liz & Sue (and Sue’s Nephew) were at Tooting Common along with 516 other runners.
Paul Martelletti was first across the line. Paul has represented Great Britain at the 2014 IAU 100 km World Championships in Doha, Qatar. Unsurprisingly Paul finished first last year as a parkrun tourist at Montacute. He has also held the record for the quickest Marathon running as a superhero (See Picture).
Shepton Mallet
Next week they have a pacing event "we would like some pacers please from 24 to 40 minutes at 2 minute intervals."
