Only nine Langport Runners Parkrunning this week. No run at Shepton Mallet due to the Collett Park Festival, but it is back next week.
Hazel and her mum, Karen, travelled the furthest to Kirkcaldy in Fife. Interestingly the Scottish Parkruns start at 9.30am, so a bit of a lie in on a Saturday morning for them! I have included Karen in the Results Table as she achieved an impressive 69.33% are grading; Hazel's 59.15% was pretty good too.
Nick made his 24th appearance at Solihull Brueton Park Parkrun. This week the start of the course had been moved further back to accommodate the growing number of runners and spread the field out before reaching the first bend. We have been Parkrunning at Brueton for three years now and have seen the number of runners grow from around 200 then to nearer 500 now. An amazing growth in popularity.
Typically, most of us Parkrunning this week were at Montacute. Amanda Perrin was volunteering as Funnel Manager, making sure we all kept in line collecting our finish tokens. Kyle ran another sub 19 minutes, finishing 2nd overall. Good to see Tamsyn making a regular appearance and improving each week with another PB. Martin and Isaac came to Montacute for the first time. Isaac achieved a great time of 32:15 on the hilly course. Impressively Martyn managed to keep up with him whilst pushing Thomas in his three wheeled buggy.
If you can, please come along to next Saturday's Montacute Parkrun. Colin will be running his 100th Parkrun and it will also be Jack's 10th. Colin tells me there will be cake!
Also, if anyone can volunteer at Montacute in the next few weeks, the rota has lots of spaces. Please email yeovilmontacutehelpers@ parkrun.com with the date you are available and the role you would like to take. Carpark attendant is a good role to volunteer for if you also want to run.
