Seven Langport Runners at three different Parkruns this week and an impressive four PBs.

Almost back to the original Montacute course and, with weather conditions proving perfect, Grahame knocked a further huge chunk off his PB; Kyle another 20 seconds and gained our highest percentage this week; and Amanda nipped in under 28 minutes. On her 60th run at Montacute, quite rightly, Amanda was delighted to achieve her best run there since May 2014. Perseverance indeed.

Over the other side of the country in Margate, Mike produced our 4th PB of the day and Joan was our only runner at Burnham.

Our Labrador, Bella, and I saw Montacute from a different angle this week. We were marshalling up by the Lodge. I enjoy being there, as you see the runners twice and there is time to walk to the finish to watch a few people come in. The Lodge is at the top of the first hill, so I see the runners as they emerge from the 'tunnel of trees' and then part way around the second loop when almost 3k is completed. (Apologies, by the way, for telling runners they were almost half way, it has been a while since I ran at Montacute and I forgot I was placed at almost 3K, rather than almost 2K. Oops.)

Marshalling gives you a view of the whole run. I could cheer on Philip Bridge who was in the lead, and remember how our son used to run with him at school cross country races years ago; I could spot the people I usually run with and wonder if I would have stayed with them; and I am always amazed how quickly the group spreads out on the hilly course. Lovely to see everyone working hard racing themselves and lots of PBs this week to show for it.

Don't forget, there is no Montacute Parkrun on Easter Saturday🐇🍫
