The 2010 SLaMM will now include a half marathon as well as the full. The SLaMM and Half Marathon race will be held on the 11th September 2010 starting and finishing at Bowdens Crest Caravan & Camping Park.
The SLaMM is a single lap of approx. 26.2miles multi terrain course for those bold enough to take on this challenge. Taking in some of the most wonderful views of the levels as well as riverside tracks, including race obstacles in the form of gates and styles. A mainly flat course it does have a couple of challenging hills at 18 miles with quite a steep one very near the finish. Be warned there is livestock on route.
The SLaMM route winds its way from Bowdens Crest Caravan and Camping Park to Langport then on to Midelney, Burrow Hill, Kingsbury Episcopi, Drayton before reaching Curry Rivel and then back to Bowdens via Langport.
The new Half Marathon route takes in the first 2.5 and last 9.5 miles of the SLaMM route including the last two hills. The route winds its way from Bowdens Crest Caravan and Camping Park to Langport then on to Curry Rivel and then back to Bowdens via Langport.
There will be regular water stations and the course will be well marshalled. Shower and changing facilities will be available at the start/finish.
Prizes will be awarded in the normal categories as well as a team prize.
Universal entry forms, and photocopies accepted. Entries on the day for the race will be accepted £1.00 extra..Please submit your entry as soon as possible, together with a cheque/ Postal Order made out to Langport Runners for SLaMM £12 (£14 if not affiliated) or HALF £10 (£12 if not affiliated).
